Welcome to my personal website!
My name is Nikos Dokmetzoglou and I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics of the National Centre of Scientific Research “Demokritos”.
My journey began in Greece in 1995. I was born in Thessaloniki, but spent most of my formative years in Athens. After receiving my highschool diploma from Athens College in 2013, I made the big move to the United States of America. I carried out my undergraduate studies in physics, mathematics and philosophy at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, and received my Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics in 2017. I then moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to continue my studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I conducted research in quantum field theory under the guidance of Prof. Louise Dolan. We investigated the fascinating symmetry properties of certain scalar and gauge field theories and their scattering amplitudes. I received my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics in 2023, and found myself back in Athens, after an entire decade of being abroad, for my first postdoctoral position at NCSR “Demokritos”.
On this website you can find information about my research and teaching experience, as well as my curriculum vitae and links to my profiles on other websites.
